Golf Courses

Schoongezicht Country Estate adjoins the old and established Plettenberg Bay Golf and Country Club. Set in a nature reserve, the indigenous flora attracts a large variety of bird life and small animals like antelope, vervet monkeys and baboons. The site is popular for bird-watching where the beautiful Knysna loerie can also be seen. In addition, this 18 hole golf course has two magnificent bowling greens and four all weather tennis courts.

There are also a few other golf courses in the area to chooses from. The next one closest to Schoongezicht is Goose Valley Golf Club which borders on the Keurbooms Lagoon. It lies only 4 km from Plett and has magnificent views of the Tsitsikamma Mountains and Robberg Peninsula.

35 km from Plett is Pezula Championship Golf Course in Knysna an award-winning 18-hole golf course, designed by David Dale and Ronald Fream of GolfPlan USA. This golf course rates amongst the best and the most scenic golf courses in the world.

Also in Knysna is Simola Golf & Country Estate, which is one of our country’s leading golfing destinations. It’s par for the course that every hole boasts exceptional views – either out across the Knysna Lagoon all the way to the Heads or over the Knysna River in the valley below.

Fancourt, situated across 620 hectares of lush countryside in George, is South Africa’s premier golf resort, featuring three highly rated championship golf courses. The Links, Montagu and Outeniqua. In addition to the three golf courses suited to every type of golfer, Fancourt has an exceptional golf academy that houses a Taylor Made Performance Lab and state-of-the-art practice and teaching facilities.
